【GOSSAMER GEAR】

1998年に創業したGVP Gearを前身とするULのパイオニアブランド。 創業者グレン・ヴァン・ペスキはボーイスカウトに参加する息子のためにレイ・ジャーディンの「PCT HIker Book」を参考にした軽量バックパックをつくりはじめる。GVP Gearはホームページで初期フラッグシップといえるバックパックG4の型紙を公開するなどULのフィロソフィーを伝えてきた。2005年にATスルーハイカーのグラント・シビルが経営に参加、テキサス州オースティンにてGossamer Gearと改称する。以降、ロングハイキングカルチャーにも積極的にコミットし、アメリカのハイキングカルチャーを代表するブランドとして多くのスルーハイカーの支持をえている。
